Shape the future of corporate accountability.
ClientEarth USA is looking for driven and ambitious law school graduates to join our team through externally funded fellowships. Based in Santa Monica, with potential remote opportunities, our fellows are integral to our mission: pioneering novel legal theories to hold corporations accountable for a livable planet.
ClientEarth USA is transforming how the law can be used to accomplish this goal. We devise creative ways to leverage various existing laws – including torts, religious freedom, securities, consumer protection, corporations, finance, and others – to drive progress and compel change. Our work spans areas such as corporate governance and fiduciary duty, equipping lawyers with cutting-edge legal strategies to tackle the climate crisis.
As a fellow, you will work alongside experienced lawyers to develop and advance innovative legal strategies. You will engage in litigation, legal research, and policy advocacy, preparing high-quality legal analysis that influences regulators, judges, investors, and decision-makers.
While a background in environmental law is valued, we especially welcome applications from 3Ls and recent graduates with a strong background in corporate law, finance law, or related disciplines. While preference is given to candidates who have secured external funding, we are happy to provide letters in support of applicants who are still seeking it. Fellowships typically begin in September and last one to two years, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
As an independent 501(c)(3) organization, we are part of the global ClientEarth network, operating across 60+ countries. Our team includes experts from diverse legal fields who apply their skills in innovative ways with a shared vision of a future where people and planet thrive together.
If you are looking for an opportunity to use your legal skills to reshape how corporations and financial institutions respond to climate change, we encourage you to apply today.
