Matthew is an attorney at ClientEarth, specializing in climate-related accountability and regulation within the U.S. corporate and financial sectors. His work addresses the environmental impacts of multinational corporations in the Americas, with particular focus on advancing human rights and sustainability in agricultural supply chains throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

Experience

Matthew joined ClientEarth in August 2023 as a staff attorney. He is currently based in New York City. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and proficient in Arabic.

Prior to joining ClientEarth in August 2023, Matthew served as a white collar and regulatory defense attorney at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York City. Before his career as an attorney, Matthew was a Fulbright Study and Research Fellow in the demography department at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Education

Matthew holds a J.D. cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a B.A. cum laude in Social Research and Public Policy from New York University Abu Dhabi.

Matthew is a member of the state bar of New York.
