Focus

Jay joined ClientEarth in March 2024 and is based in Los Angeles. He is dedicated to holding corporations and financial institutions, including insurance companies, accountable for addressing climate change and encouraging their role in implementing positive solutions.

Experience

Prior to joining ClientEarth, Jay worked at the global law firm of Perkins Coie in San Francisco, California, where he represented clients in complex commercial litigation disputes with a particular emphasis on insurance coverage, environmental and consumer protection issues. He worked extensively with numerous legal advocacy groups, including the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights, Kids in Need of Defense and Advocates for Human Rights, and was recognized by Legal Services of Northern California and the San Francisco Bar Association for his work assisting wildfire survivors.

Education

Jay graduated with high honors from Harvard University with a degree in history and received his law degree from the University of Southern California, where he served as the Executive Articles Editor on the Southern California Law Review.

Jay is a member of the state bars of California and Washington.
