Tim Disney is an artist and entrepreneur, and a veteran of leadership roles in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. From 1985 to 1988 Tim was a writer in the animation department at Disney Studios and co-wrote the animated feature film Oliver and Company. In the 1990's he served as Chairman and CEO of Virtual World Entertainment, a pioneering creator of networked virtual reality systems and operator of branded entertainment centers in the US and overseas. Tim has been a founding investor and director of a variety of media and technology companies, including Virtual World Entertainment, Blu Homes, Dragonfly Therapeutics, Skyhawk Therapeutics, Marginal Media, and Uncommon Productions.
Tim has written, directed and/or produced multiple award-winning feature films, documentaries, and short films, which have appeared at Sundance, Telluride, SXSW, and elsewhere. In the not-for-profit sector Tim has served as a trustee or advisor of many cultural and environmental organizations, including World Resources Institute, The Adamma Foundation, Pacific Resident Theater, On Your Feet, The Adamma Foundation, Southern California Institute of Architecture (SciArc), Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), and California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) where he served as Chairman of the Board.
A graduate of Harvard University with a degree in Fine Arts, Tim lives on a hill in Los Angeles.
